1. Welding mixed gas, also known as welding protection mixed gas, welding protective gas, is a new welding process developed on the basis of extensive application of manual arc welding and submerged arc automatic welding. This new process uses argon + carbon dioxide. The binary or ternary mixed gas shielded welding process can improve weld metal properties and weld formation, reduce weld spatter and improve weld intrinsic quality compared to single gas (argon or carbon dioxide) shielded weld.
2. In the practice of gas shielded arc welding for many years, it has been found that the use of mixed gas instead of a single pure gas as a protective gas can effectively refine droplets, reduce splashing, improve forming, control penetration, prevent defects and reduce porosity generation. Therefore, the welding quality of the weldment can be significantly improved.
3. Commonly used ternary mixtures are Ar-He-CO2, Ar-He-N2, Ar-He-O2, Ar-O2-CO2, and the like. Can be formulated according to customer needs. Tungsten inert gas shielded welding is referred to as TIG welding. The role of the gas is mainly to protect the molten metal from harmful elements such as oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen in the air and moisture, but it also has an effect on the stability of the arc, the form of the droplet transfer and the activity of the molten pool. Therefore, the use of different gases produces different metallurgical reactions and process effects. The main feature of gas shielded arc welding is that the arc is visible, the weld pool is small, it is easy to mechanize and automate, and the productivity is high. The rapidly growing welding robots of the 1970s were mainly used for resistance spot welding and gas shielded arc welding. Gas-shielded arc welding is suitable for the welding of metals such as steel, aluminum and titanium. It is widely used in the manufacture of automobiles, ships, boilers, pipes and pressure vessels, especially where high quality or all-position welding is required. Gas-shielded arc welding can be divided into tungsten inert gas shielded welding and gas metal arc welding according to the electrode type. The shielding gas for gas shielded welding is mainly argon, and an appropriate amount of carbon dioxide (15-30%) or oxygen (0.5-5%) is added. Compared with carbon dioxide gas shielded welding, this kind of protective welding has a wider specification, better forming and better quality. Compared with the molten inert gas shielded welding, the molten pool is more active and the metallurgical reaction is better.
Seven, matters needing attention
The welding gas mixture is a high-pressure filling gas, which should be used after being decompressed and pressure-reduced. The used cylinders are used for a long period of time. All expired cylinders must be sent to a department for safety inspection before they can continue to be used. When using the exhaust gas in each bottle of gas, the residual pressure in the bottle should be kept at 0.5MPa, and the minimum pressure should not be lower than 0.25MPa. The valve should be closed to ensure the gas quality and safety. Bottled gas products should be stacked in storage, storage and use. It is strictly forbidden to stack flammable gas and combustion-supporting gas. It is not allowed to be close to open flames and heat sources. Do not near fire, do not touch oil, do not expose to the sun, do not throw Do not hit, do not conduct arcing or arcing on the cylinder, and prohibit rough handling.
