Dewar Tanks for Fishing Transport Vehicles: Ideal Oxygen Supply for Live Fish Haulage

High mortality from oxygen shortage during long-distance live fish delivery is a common headache for aquaculture dealers and fisheries. Mounted Dewar tanks have become standard equipment on fishing trucks, producing continuous oxygen via vaporized liquid oxygen to greatly raise survival rates of fish, shrimp and crabs.

Manufactured with double-layer vacuum-insulated 304 stainless steel, vehicle-mounted Dewar tanks come in common sizes of 80L, 175L, 195L and 210L with 1.38MPa medium-pressure and 2.3MPa high-pressure options. Reinforced shockproof bases are specially designed to withstand bumpy road conditions without damaging vacuum layers, keeping low evaporation rates even under high ambient temperature. Built-in ambient air vaporizer coils convert liquid oxygen into gaseous oxygen automatically. A single 210L tank can generate 9 cubic meters of oxygen per hour to supply stable water aeration all day long, saving valuable cargo space compared with bulky traditional high-pressure oxygen cylinders.

Conventional steel oxygen bottles feature limited capacity and require frequent refills, taking up precious loading room and increasing labor cost. Liquid oxygen stored in Dewar tanks cuts tank volume down to 1/8 of regular cylinders with identical oxygen capacity. One fill supports 3 to 7 days of cross-country transportation and improves loading efficiency by over 40%. Constant dissolved oxygen reduces fish stress and lifts survival rate from 65% to above 92%, effectively cutting cargo loss and boosting profit for seafood transporters. Some fleets also adopt CO₂ Dewar tanks to cool seafood and adjust water pH for fresh-keeping.

Equipped with pressure gauges, level indicators, safety valves and pressure regulators, these cryogenic vessels release excess pressure automatically for safe operation. Anti-corrosion construction resists seawater splash and humid coastal environments.

We supply vertical and horizontal custom Dewar tanks for pickup trucks and enclosed seafood vehicles, alongside tank modification and regular LOX refilling services to help global aquaculture transport businesses reduce wastage and maximize revenue.
